Shift4 is seeking a QA Engineering Manager who is extremely self-sufficient, and holds himself/herself to
the highest standards of professionalism, to grow our world-class teams responsible for designing,
developing, deploying, debugging, maintaining, and testing software solutions (e.g., products, tools, or
systems) for Shift4’s SkyTab and Payments ecosystems. This includes an Android point-of-sale client, a
cloud-native online portal (Lighthouse), our third-party app marketplace, our SkyTab mobile payment
application, and our Payment Processing.
The successful candidate will have an excellent test management and analysis skill with a solid
understanding of the whole system development and test lifecycle, focusing on a variety of test design
techniques and test strategies, test planning and coordinating large scale testing projects delivery in
complex fast-moving environments. Excellent communication, business domain expertise and people’s
skill will be vital in this role.
The Shift4 QA team works in a high volume, high responsibility, and complex environment through both
manual and automated testing to ensure dependable solutions are delivered into our ecosystem.
SQA Manager Core Competencies
Testing Competence: The candidate must come from a strong test management background,
working within product engineering teams to deliver large-scale product solutions for our
ecosystem. Test Manager will be primarily responsible for managing Testing phases, closely work
with Product and Business owners on defining clear test milestones for each of the test phases
(functional, integration, regression, E2E, and UAT), maintaining status reports of the projects with
clear RAG, Risks and mitigation, generation of test metrics during each project and for each
product;
Technical Competence: Strong understanding of Cloud based systems, Object Oriented
Programming, extensive testing experience performing system Integration, Functional testing,
Manual testing, Regression, exploratory, GUI, Component, Cross Browser, End-to-End and User
Acceptance Testing, certification testing, compliance testing, merchant-integration testing, load
testing, Beta and Pilot testing;
Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to
determine the source and cause of the problem. Use critical thinking to break down problems, and
suggest creative ways to avoid issues in initial phases of development. Is able to understand and
set priorities for themselves and the teams;
People Management: Strong experience in training and developing QA teams, establishing best QA
practices, interview and hire new employees, mentor employees and deliver performance reviews,
create performance improvement plans, which requires follow through with disciplinary action up to
and including termination;
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration and time-management skills for efficient and
result-oriented working with attention to detail, taking into account the audience and nature of the
information (for example, technical, sensitive, or controversial); makes clear and convincing oral
presentations; listens to others; attends to non-verbal cues and responds appropriately;

Responsibilities:
Plans, directs and coordinates all activities related to SkyTab or Payments testing;
Motivate, supervise and delegate tasks and duties to the QA leads and individual contributors in the
org;
Coordinating work with SCRUM Teams, Test Leads, Development Managers, Business Analysis,
Architects, Product Owner, Technical PMs and other Business stakeholders to achieve elegant
solutions which satisfy business needs, goals, and objectives; manage and deliver Testing to meet
quality standards across all the projects’ rollout to Production;
Developing testing strategies (test plans) for larger sprint tasks that outline, estimate, and prioritize
testing efforts and identify testing risks;
Participates in requirements engineering and development design reviews; define SLAs and KPIs
for each delivery phases and ability to drive the quality outcomes through all stakeholders;
Hire and arrange training for new QA professionals;
Conducts performance reviews and provides career guidance for all direct reports;
