WHAT WE DO

We are set up to provide our customers with end-to-end support in the process of developing software solutions:

  • Business need analysis, design of functional and non-functional requirements, system analysis, support for business transformation and IT/business consultancy;
  • User interface and experience design and development for mobile and desktop applications;
  • Front and back-end development in a wide range of technologies: Java, .NET, Ruby, GoLang, Oracle, Python.
  • Complete Data Warehouse solutions from architecture, design and implementation using mainly Vertica, Oracle and Microsoft platforms.
  • Avalanche has been the central counterparty for multiple major banking projects in the Scandinavia and Baltics, in areas such as lending automation, regulatory reporting and calculations, integrations, governance, risk and compliance, Basel II/III, Stress Testing, AML/KYC.

You will have an amazing opportunity to work with experienced and constantly growing team. Your first project in Avalanche Labs will be in the iGambling industry. We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our innovative development team. As a Software Engineer you will contribute to the design, development, optimization, and management of our Apache Kafka infrastructure and applications.

DO YOU HAVE

Minimum 5 years of combined experience as a Kafka Developer, Kafka Engineer or a similar role

Strong hands-on experience with Kafka and related technologies

Proficiency in Java or Scala programming for Kafka application development

Familiarity with messaging and event-driven architectures

Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Avro, JSON, or Protobuf

Understanding of version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Kafka Streams for stream processing

ARE YOU WILLING TO

Design and develop Kafka-based applications to meet business requirements.

Implement and optimize data streaming processes using Kafka Streams or other relevant frameworks

Design, deploy, and maintain Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement Kafka solutions

Integrate Kafka with other systems within the technology stack

Optimize Kafka application performance for throughput, latency, and resource utilization

Work with Kafka Connect for integrating with various data sources and sinks

Work with other big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Storm

Implement monitoring solutions for Kafka applications and clusters, proactively identifying and resolving issues

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Kafka functionality
