As a part of the team, Associate Research Analyst/Research Analyst will be responsible for researching, standardizing, modeling and updating industrial data in line with the needs and deadlines of the publication schedule, also improving research processes to ensure its effectiveness and data quality.
Key responsibilities:
- Researching, updating and extending industrial data from national and international statistical sources
- Identifying and maintaining relations with major national, international and pan-regional sources, ensuring our databases contain their latest published socio-economic data
- Standardising raw statistical data to ensure cross-country and cross-indicator comparability
- Constantly monitoring and improving data gathering and standardization standards with a focus on automation and streamlining
- Analysing and manipulating statistics relevant to the requirements of our methodology, carrying out calculations and numerical analysis as required using MS Excel, R or other packages
- Extrapolating and interpolating the data by devising modelling and forecasting techniques based on quantitative and judgmental methods
- Liaison with Sales and Consulting in dealing with client queries and requests
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or similar field (can be a final year student)
- Understanding and interest in international economic, demographic and industry trends
- Experience in research, numerical analysis and data manipulation (including estimation and modelling techniques)
- A high level of numeracy, with a strong interest in understanding statistical data and presenting them in an imaginative way
- Extensive knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent communications skills and English fluency (both oral amp; writing)
- Knowledge of econometric/statistical software package R
- Flexibility; ability to work on own initiative and to be fully responsible for some day-to-day functions
- Methodical approach to repetitive tasks and unwavering attention to detail, even when meeting tight deadlines
